Characters - Zenless Zone Zero Guide - IGN (2024)

The developer of Genshin Impact, HoYoverse, is taking its talent for making neat characters to another world with Zenless Zone Zero, an urban fantasy action game. Though not much has been officially released about ZZZ's characters, here's what we've been able to discover based on Zenless Zone Zero's closed beta announcement and other teased information.

This page will be updated with more Zenless Zone Zero character details as they're revealed.

Almost all revealed ZZZ characters were shown to be part of various groups, though all group names are not clear yet. Below are the known groups and their affiliated characters. Click or tap on a link to jump to a particular section.

Gentle House

Gentel House, also known as Cunning Hares, is an "odd-job agency" and one of several groups in ZZZ.

The three characters that we know belong to this house are Anby, Billy, and NosTradamus. Billy and NosTradamus' names were discoved in media assets released by HoYoverse. The cat girl's name is currently unknown and is not in the Gentle House banner on the ZZZ official website, but she did accompany Anby, Billy, and NosTradamus in the reveal trailer under the Gentle House banner.

Anby Demara

Anby Demara weilds a sword and uses what looks like blue electric attacks.
"Anby's Hollow survival rule No. 100: Constant concentration while in a Hollow..." (1)

English Voice Actor: N/A

Anby's official decription:

"A young girl whose age and past are a mystery. It's not known where she learned such an efficient fighting style.

Accidentally taken in by Nicole and joined the Cunning Hares, she gradually became a strong, and most trusted companion.

She likes movies, but due to a lack of common sense, she often believes them real and follows their example..."

HoYoVerse posted this response to Anby's belief in fictional stories on HoYoverse:
"Anby: This isn't true, I never take fictional stories seriously. For example, I know the Starlight Knight isn't real, putting on his belt and shouting "Transform!" to gain superpowers... Obviously you'd need to be bitten by a mutant insect for that." (2)

Billy

Not much is known about this character called "Billy" in official media assets. He dual wields pistols and is also a part of Gentle House.

NosTradamus

Not much is known much about this character, named "NosTradamus" in media assets. Based on the reveal trailer, NosTradamus uses a case for melee attacks then unvails the weapon in the case for a larger attack, as shown in the screenshot above.

B. Industries

Belobo(?) Industries, or B. Industries as we're naming them for now until we have clarity on the last letter of their name, appears to be a construction company. The three members have similar uniforms with a white, black, and red theme, along with weapons that look like construction tools.

Victoria House Keeping

Victoria House Keeping features two unnamed characters, both armed with equipment obviously meant for more than standard cleaning.

Unknown Affilations

The following characters were shown in the ZZZ reveal, but we're currently unsure of their affiliations. This includes what we assume to be the primary player protagonist character known as a Proxy.

Player Proxy

Similar to Genshin Impact's Traveler (Lumine and Aether), it seems like the two charcters depicted in the screenshots below will be the player character options for ZZZ:

Their names have not been revealed. We do know that, like Genshin Impact's "Traveler" title, player's have the title of "Proxy."

Unagi and the Demon

Another unknown faction features a character named Unagi (based on media assets provided by HoYoverse) and a blue demon, both who appear to be some sort of law enforcement.

Unagi weilds what looks like a katana and struck drown enemies fast in the reveal trailer.

The demon, on the other hand, dons a mask when doing what looked like their more powerful attack.

Bangboo

The mascot creature we've seen accompanying what we assume are the protagonist Proxy is called a Bangboo, though that does not seem to be the name of the character. There's a Bangboo on HoYoverse's official community website, HoYoLab, with the account name Type II. (3)
