Kahndaq, also known as theKingdom of Kahndaq, is a Middle Eastern country bordering both Egypt and Israel. It is ruled by KingTeth-Adam, better known to the world asBlack Adam.
History[]
Kahndaqis an Arab country on the continent of Africa located between Egypt and Israel. It was once ruled indefinitely by King Teth-Adam. Its capital city is namedShiruta. At least one of its official languages is Arabic, the other being the native Kahndaqian language which over the past century has been becoming extinct. Other than its native language, Kahndaq maintains isolationism and non-interventionism with the rest of the world, including other Arab nations.
Culturally, the country is similar to the Arab Republic of Egypt. As such, the majority of the Kahndaqi population are relatively liberal Sunni Muslims who are willing to view Black Adam as a prophet along the lines of Mohammed. Due to the relatively liberal culture, the social barriers to women in Kahndaq are by no means as stringent as they are in Muslim countries that impose a strict interpretation of Islamic law, which has forced Kahndaq to remain somewhat isolationist.
In 1600 B.C. Kahndaq was attacked and destroyed Ahk-Ton, killing thousands of Kahndaqi's, including Adam's wife and children. Kahndaq would eventual be rebuilt, and it's previous defeat led Adam to take extreme measures to protect Kahndaq. Adam was said to have disappeared around this time, when in truth, his rule had been ended when Shazamremoved Adam's powers and entombed him for centuries in Shiruta.
Since 2000 A.D., Kahndaq fell under the rule of dictatorAsim Muhunnad, who was eventually overthrown by Black Adam and a group of formerJustice League sympathisers and Belle Reve inmates who founded theBlack Reign. Following Muhunnad's assassination, Adam once again made Kahndaq a sovereign nation, immediately destroying any bordering nation who set troops or reinforcements into Kahndaqi territory.
