Rowe joins WRAL from WKBW-TV in Buffalo, NY, where she worked as a weekday anchor. Prior to Buffalo, Rowe worked for CTV News in Toronto. She is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. Her first day on air will be May 25, 2023.

WRAL has the largest weather team

Seven meteorologists in the building means WRAL News has the largest weather team in North Carolina and the local news market. "We're really fortunate here at WRAL to have seven meteorologists on staff," WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

In 1984, he transitioned to television work with WRAL-TV, where he has stayed for over 30 years. During that time, he served the station in a variety of roles, including News Director, weekend anchor, environmental reporter, and co-anchor of the morning and noon newscasts. Bill retired from WRAL-TV on June 29, 2018.

Greg Fishel (born February 19, 1957) is a former meteorologist for WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Chief meteorologist Greg Fishel left WRAL-TV in February 2019 in what the company described as a “personnel matter.” Fishel went on to work for Priogen Energy and in July 2020 relocated to south Florida.

Fishel said at the time that he was facing some “personal challenges” that impacted his ability to work effectively and professionally. To rehash it now, Fishel says, would only make things more difficult for his family, so he'd like to let it be.

Somara Theodore has joined ABC News as a meteorologist based in New York City. Theodore comes from WRC in Washington D.C., where she worked for six years on the weekend newscasts, NBCWashington.com, WTOP Radio as well as NBC's Weekend Today.

WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Brian Shrader made a big announcement on Friday, April 19, 2024. After 16 ½ years as morning traffic anchor, Shrader will be moving to evenings on WRAL. He will be taking over tracking breaking news in the WRAL Live Center during the evening and late newscasts.

Chris Michaels, who is originally from Fuquay-Varina, joined WRAL in 2024. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2014 with a B.S. in Meteorology.

Anchor/reporter Mark Boyle announced his departure from WRAL this week. Boyle, who anchored the station's Live Center during newscasts for nearly five years, told The News & Observer that he is taking a new job in Washington, DC and that Tuesday was his last day at WRAL.
