WWE star Rhea Ripley reveals 'secret injury' but fans are distracted by her bum (2024)

Rhea Ripley appears to have confirmed an injury – but WWE fans were too feral to notice.

The Women’s World Champion is no stranger to getting people talking with her wild antics, and her own ‘likes’ on X shows she’s well aware of how, er, passionate her fanbase can be.

Over the weekend, Rhea was in action against Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax, and she made waves by recreating Rikishi’s iconic Stinkface move.

However, in the video Rhea can also be seen wearing a cast on her left wrist, prompting fears about her status before WrestleMania 40 on April 6 and 7.

It seems fans were much more focus on the cheekiness in the clip than her hand.

For the uninitiated, Samoan WWE legend Rikishi’s signature move would see the star – whose sumo-style gear exposed his rather large derriere – back up into the corner and shake his behind against an opponent sat down trying to escape.

It’s been a long time since fans have seen him deliver it, but Rhea kept the memory alive and put her own spin on things after Nia had performed a less exposed variation in recent weeks.

The Irresistible Force had Rhea backed in the corner, but the Judgment Day star – who refers to herself as Mami – escaped and left her rival slumped during their untelevised bout on Saturday night.

As the crowd in Springfield, Illinois started to cheer, Rhea hiked up her pants to show off near enough her entire bum, and shuffled back to rub her bottom in Nia’s face.

It was met with huge cheers from the fans in attendance, while her followers on social media have flooded the post with plenty of hilarious and unhinged replies.

‘Payback’s a Peach… Your’e welcome Nia 😈,’ Rhea tweeted, as @hughart_michael replied: ‘Nia just lived most men and women’s dreams.’

‘It should’ve been me 😩,’ cried @Yung_SB, while @rshah2611 agreed: ‘Wish I was in place of Nia 😂💀’

‘How does it feel to live my dream Nia,’ quipped @CassieLayne, and @LuchaFamily joked: ‘Your form was off. Must practice over and over. Any volunteers? 🤣🤣🤣🤣’

The viral moment nearly got recreated the next night, but during Sunday’s match it was former MMA fighter Shayna Baszler who voluntarily sat in the corner and begged Rhea to deliver the move.

However, the Queen of Spades wasn’t quite so lucky as Nia took out Rhea to a chorus of boos from fans in Rockford.

Even WWE legend CM Punk has had some fun with the whole situation, as he took to Instagram before his huge Monday Night Raw comeback in Chicago tonight.

Sharing an AI photo of him kissing Cody Rhodes on the lips, he wrote: ”I see what @rhearipley_WWE been doing on house shows and I’m prepared to raise the bar. See you tomorrow Chicago!’

And in a cheeky reference to recent reports about Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s bad language on WWE television, he added: ‘Live TV is the best, let’s all swear!’

Rhea is no stranger to getting such a wild response from her adoring fans, and she previously admittedshe loves being a ‘menace’to rile people up.

‘Being a menace is the one thing I really enjoy doing, so I’m loving every second of it picking on everyone,’ sheexclusively told Metro.co.uk. ‘I relish in it, I really do.

‘I enjoy every second – especially knowing how worked up everyone’s gonna be about it. That just drives me to being more of a menace in a way! [laughs] But yeah, I love what I do, I am enjoying it!’
